Place

Few schools have a sense of place like Punahou. Sheltered by Manoa Valley and nourished by the New Spring, our breathtaking campus has been a gift to students and adults for nearly two centuries. While Punahou’s educational program and facilities continue to evolve, its grounds retain a timeless connection to its history and Hawai‘i. Today, we are preparing for the future with thoughtful campus planning that enhances the landscape of learning so central to the Punahou experience.

Reimagining Learning Environments
Context is one of the conditions that makes a transformative education possible. Our learning environments – from natural and open spaces to historic buildings and state-of-the-art facilities – are a physical expression of the School’s educational philosophy.Their potential as teaching tools continues to evolve along with our understanding of design and its impact on learning. With a renewed Campus Master Plan to guide us, Punahou is reimagining its 76 acres – inspired by the opportunities of a 21st-century education and anchored by our deeply rooted sense of place, with Ka Punahou, the New Spring, at its center. Goal: $85 million

Priorities within Reimagining Learning Environments include:
  • A new community for grades 2 – 5
  • The K – 12 Learning Commons
  • Integrating and unifying the campus
